Wood Fumigation – ISPM 15

Once or wood arrives at our factory, it is held in quarantine.

Before being released from quarantine and stored in our warehouse, the wood undergoes a ISPM 15 Phytosanitary heat treatment.

The ISPM 15 treatment kills all known stages of the Wood Borer , from the egg all the way to the insect itself.

While the wood is dried in a kiln at the wood mill, we found that this ISPM 15 treatment solves 99.9% of wood borer issues arising from our factory.

 

How does the borer get into the wood?

The borers associated with Wawa, enter the wood while the tree is still standing, or when the wood is not dry enough.

The borers cannot lay their eggs into a finished moulding product neither in any dried timber like floors, decks , furniture and architectural mouldings. The paint or varnish serves as a protective layer.

 

What to do when wood borer is detected in one of our products?

We will replace the products that contain wood borer within 6 months from date of purchase, no questions asked. We unfortunately limit our risk to only replacing the affected mouldings.
